Whether it’s returning an athlete to competition after a sports injury or relieving pain from arthritis in a grandmother, Dr. Soffer’s approach is to provide cutting-edge, state of the art orthopedic care to all patients no matter what their role in life. He individualizes treatment to each person and offers the most advanced orthopedic techniques and treatments. Many orthopedic conditions may be treated non-operatively. When surgery is needed, Dr. Soffer utilizes arthroscopic and minimally-invasive surgery whenever possible.
Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair of the Shoulder, Arthroscopic ACL Reconstruction and Meniscus Surgery of the Knee, Total Knee Replacement, Elbow Arthroscopy, and Total Shoulder Replacement are just some of the innovative surgical techniques Dr. Soffer uses to help his patients.
Background
Dr. Soffer attended the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, with a B.A. in Natural Science. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1986. He went on to complete Orthopedic Residency training at Union Memorial Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1991. He was then chosen for a Nationally Accredited one year Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellowship with world famous Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. James R. Andrews. He is certified by The American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
He has been a team physician for Reading Rage Soccer, Reading United Soccer, Reading Express Indoor Football, Albright College, and multiple high schools in the area. He has sponsored local youth sports teams as well as the Easter Seals 10K Run and Alligator 10K Trail Run.
